Personality Types

There are many people in this world, and I believe that each possesses a particular personality. Research has been done extensively on this subject in the latter half of the past century, and it continues on this century. This is a subject that has been of great interest to me in the past 4 years, or so.

Most notably, Keirsey developed the Keirsey Temperament test, which assesses a person’s tendencies towards a certain personality. Also, the Myers-Briggs Personality Type test, based on the Carl Jung model, has been used by psychology departments at the university level in the United States for sometime, now.

I have been fortunate enough to be given the Myers-Briggs, while I was still in college, by a professor of the psychology department. The test has been proven to be both valid and reliable. (Sometimes though, I feel that when reading the descriptions of the different personality types I could be fooling myself into believing in them much like a horoscope in the newspaper.) But, I truly believe the test describes my personality, fully.

According to the Myer-Briggs, I am an INTP.
